A full service, from the inside out
A service is the routine care that keeps a mechanical watch running as it was built to. Over the years oils thin, dust works in and tiny parts wear against one another. Left alone, that wear spreads. Caught at the right moment, it is simply put right.
At ChronoCare, servicing means a complete movement service. The movement is taken apart, cleaned, inspected, repaired where parts are worn, lubricated, rebuilt, timed and tested for water resistance. It is not a quick clean, and it is not a polish.
Our certified watchmakers carry out every service at the Dubai Hills workshop. You receive an honest assessment before any work starts, and we show you what needs doing before we do it. The decision stays with you at every step.
How a service is carried out
Assessment and agreement
The watch is examined and the findings are explained to you. We show what needs doing before we do it, and no work begins until you have agreed.
Disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning
The case is opened and the movement is taken apart completely. Every component is cleaned in an ultrasonic bath to remove old oil, dust and fine debris.
Inspection and replacement
Each clean part is inspected for wear under the watchmaker's eye. Components that have worn are replaced, so the movement is rebuilt from sound parts.
Re-lubrication and reassembly
The movement is put back together and fresh lubricant is applied where one part meets another. This protects the mechanism and keeps friction low.
Regulation, timing and testing
The watch is regulated and timed, and its water resistance is tested. Only then is it ready to be returned to you.

Questions about watch servicing
What does a ChronoCare watch service include?
A complete movement service: disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, inspection, replacement of worn parts, re-lubrication, reassembly, regulation and timing, and a water-resistance test. It treats the movement and its seals. Case and bracelet refinishing are separate services.
Who carries out the servicing?
Certified watchmakers, at our workshop in Dubai Hills. ChronoCare is the watchmaking arm of Chrono Group, whose showroom is at Prive Residences. Your watch is serviced in-house, in the same place you hand it over, rather than sent away to a third party.
How often should a luxury watch be serviced?
There is no single answer. Intervals differ between makers and movements, and depend on how a watch is worn and stored. Dubai's heat and dust matter too. An assessment tells you where your own watch stands, which is more reliable than a fixed date.
Will I know what is being done before the work starts?
Yes. That is how every job begins here: an assessment, a clear explanation of the findings, and your agreement before the watchmaker proceeds. If something unexpected appears while the movement is open, you hear about it before any extra work is carried out.

Does a service include polishing or repair?
No, these are separate services. A service restores the movement. Polishing refinishes the case and bracelet, and repair deals with specific faults such as a stopped watch or a damaged crown. If we notice something during a service, we will tell you and leave the choice to you.
