Watch Polishing
Watch Polishing in Dubai
Case, bracelet and lug refinishing that brings brushed and polished surfaces back to life while keeping the edges, bevels and proportions the designer intended. Done with restraint, because every polish removes a little metal.

Watch Polishing
Refinishing that respects the original watch
A watch case is a carefully finished object. Brushed flanks sit beside polished bevels, and the contrast between them is part of the design. Years of wear blur that contrast with fine scratches, desk marks and knocks. Polishing at ChronoCare restores the finish surface by surface, so the watch looks cared for rather than redone.
Polishing always costs the watch something. It works by taking off a thin layer of metal, and that layer cannot be put back, so we never treat it as routine. Sometimes the right answer is a light refresh of one surface, and sometimes it is to leave the watch exactly as it is.
Where a dent or gouge goes deeper than polishing should reach, laser welding can rebuild the metal so the original edge is kept instead of ground away. We examine the watch, explain what we see and show you what needs doing before any work begins. You then decide how far to go.

How a polish is carried out
Examine
The watch is examined closely at our Dubai Hills workshop. We look at the case, lugs, bracelet and the sharpness of every edge, noting what is wear and what is original character.
Agree the scope
We explain what can be improved, what should be left alone and how much metal each option would take. Nothing starts until you have seen the plan and agreed to it.
Protect the lines
Edges, bevels and stamped details are treated as fixed points that the finishing follows and never overruns, so proportions stay as the maker drew them.
Refinish the surfaces
Brushed areas are re-brushed along their original grain and polished areas are brought back to a clean shine, each kept distinct. Deep dents are rebuilt by laser welding where needed.
Check and return
The finished watch is checked against the agreed scope, then handed back by appointment so you can see the result in good light before it leaves with you.

Polishing suits watches that
- show everyday scratches on brushed or polished surfaces
- have bracelet links that look dull or tired
- carry desk marks on the case flank or clasp
- have a dent that surface polishing alone would not fix
- are being prepared to be gifted or passed on
- need their original lines kept sharp rather than softened

Questions about watch polishing
Does polishing damage a watch?
Polishing removes a small amount of metal, so it always changes the case slightly. Done with restraint it keeps the edges, bevels and proportions intact. Done heavily it rounds them off. That is why we assess first and limit the work to what the watch needs.
Will polishing reduce the value of my watch?
That depends on how much is taken. A sensitively refinished watch with its original lines can look better to a buyer than a scratched one, but heavy polishing that softens the edges is a concern for collectors. We will tell you plainly where your watch sits before any work starts.
Can every scratch be removed?
Light surface marks usually respond well. Deeper scratches and gouges would need more metal removed than we think wise, and we will say so. In some cases laser welding rebuilds the area, and in others we suggest leaving a mark as part of the watch's history.
Can you polish only the bracelet?
Yes. Case, bracelet and lugs can be refinished together or separately. Bracelet links with clear wear can be refreshed on their own. If looseness is the real problem, repinning is a separate service that may suit the bracelet better.
How do I book a polishing assessment?
Message us on WhatsApp or call +971 56 342 6757 to arrange an appointment at our Dubai Hills workshop. Bring the watch in and we will examine it with you, explain the options and agree the scope before any work begins.
Can you polish a vintage watch?
Vintage cases often have soft edges already, so we are more cautious still. The aim is to keep the character that age has given, and we will often advise a very light touch or leaving the case alone. Each vintage piece is judged on its own condition.
