Watch Repinning
What bracelet repinning is
A metal bracelet is a chain of links held together by small parts: pins, collars and often screws. Each time you move your wrist, those parts turn against the link holes around them. Over the years they wear, the joints open up, and the bracelet lengthens, sags and begins to rattle.
Repinning replaces the parts that have worn so the joints close up again. We also look at the springbars that hold the bracelet to the case, since a tired one adds movement of its own. The aim is to restore the bracelet you already have, with its original links kept wherever possible.
Resizing is part of the same job. Once the slack has gone, the true length of the bracelet is clear, and we can set it to suit your wrist and the way you wear the watch. Before any of it begins, we show you what we have found and what needs doing.

Contact us on WhatsApp or by phone with the make and what you notice, and we arrange an appointment at the Dubai Hills workshop.
Link-by-link inspection
Every link, pin, collar, screw and springbar is examined for wear, and we look at the holes in the links as well as the parts that sit in them.
Findings shown
We show you what the inspection found and what needs doing, and nothing is replaced until you agree.
Worn parts replaced
Certified watchmakers fit new pins, collars, screws and springbars, keeping the original links in place wherever possible.
Resized and checked
The bracelet is resized to your wrist and the fit is checked, so the watch is secure and quiet when it comes back to you.

Questions about watch repinning
What exactly is bracelet repinning?
It is the replacement of the small parts that hold a metal bracelet together, namely the pins, collars, screws and springbars, once they have worn. Done well, it removes stretch and rattle while leaving the bracelet's original links in place wherever that is possible.
How do I know if my bracelet needs it?
Common signs are a bracelet that has become longer, a watch that slides on the wrist, a rattle when you move, and visible gaps between links. These point to wear, but only an inspection of each link can say how far it has gone.
Will you keep my original links?
Yes, wherever it is possible. The point of repinning is to restore the bracelet you own. If a link cannot hold a new pin securely, we will show you and talk through the options before anything is changed.
How much will it cost and how long will it take?
Neither can be quoted before the bracelet has been inspected, because both depend on what has worn and how far the wear has gone. Once we have seen the watch, we explain what needs doing and discuss it with you before any work is carried out.
Is repinning the same as servicing the watch?
No. Repinning deals with the bracelet only. A movement service is a separate job covering disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, regulation and testing. If the watch also runs poorly, mention it when you book and we will explain what each job involves.
Can the bracelet simply be shortened instead?
Sometimes, if the bracelet is sound and only needs its length changed. When a bracelet has stretched, though, shortening alone leaves the looseness in the joints, and the rattle with it. We inspect first and then recommend what the bracelet actually needs.
