Watch Authentication
One journey, one thorough examination
Clients in Abu Dhabi weigh a trip to Dubai against the value of what they want checked, and a good examination justifies the trip. The journey should only need making once. We agree the appointment in advance, so that when you arrive the watchmaker is ready for your watch.
Case, dial, movement and bracelet are examined, and the findings are written up as a report you carry home. It sets out the expert opinion of ChronoCare's watchmakers, plainly, with no guarantee of authenticity and no pretence of being a legal certificate. You can reread it at home and keep it with the watch's other records.
Making the trip count
Planned before you travel
A short conversation on WhatsApp or by phone lets us understand the watch and the purpose, so the appointment is used well.
A full examination
Case, dial, hands, movement and bracelet are examined together, with the serial number and reference compared against the watch itself.
A report to take home
The written findings come with you, so you can use them when you decide to buy, sell, insure or settle an estate.
Questions answered in person
The watchmaker explains the report face to face, which saves the back-and-forth of messages after you have returned.
From the capital to Dubai Hills
Clients across Abu Dhabi, from Al Maryah Island and the Corniche to Saadiyat, either travel to Dubai or arrange an insured courier for their watch. A watch travelling between emirates needs some planning, and that begins with a conversation. Packing, insurance and timing are all worth thinking through before you set out.
Please contact us on WhatsApp or by phone before you set out, and before anything is sent, so we can talk through the options. We will confirm the appointment at the Dubai Hills workshop and explain what to bring, so the visit is worth the journey. We would rather answer your questions now than have you travel further than you need to.
Reasons to make the journey
- You are buying in Abu Dhabi and want a watchmaker's view before paying.
- A watch from an Abu Dhabi estate needs a written description.
- You travel often and prefer one thorough appointment to several.
- The seller is abroad and the watch arrives with limited information.

Questions about watch authentication in Abu Dhabi
Do I have to come to Dubai from Abu Dhabi?
The examination is done at our Dubai Hills workshop, so the watch has to be there. Many clients travel with the watch themselves. If that is not possible, speak to us on WhatsApp before sending anything, and we will discuss what can be done.
How should I prepare for an Abu Dhabi to Dubai visit?
Message us first with the brand, the reference if you know it, and why you want the examination. Bring the watch, the box, any papers and service records, and allow time for the watchmaker to talk you through the findings.
Is the report useful to an Abu Dhabi buyer or seller?
It gives both sides a written, reasoned account of the watch. It reflects the opinion of our watchmakers rather than a certificate or guarantee, so use it alongside the paperwork and your own judgement. Buyers can raise points with a seller, and sellers can show what has already been examined.
Can I ask a question before I travel from Abu Dhabi?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp or call, Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and describe the watch. We will tell you what the examination covers and what it cannot, so you can decide whether the journey is worth making.
