Watch Authentication
Examined at the workshop, close to home
For Dubai Hills residents, authentication starts with a short visit. You bring the watch to the workshop at Prive Residences, and the watchmaker who examines it can talk to you about it in person. Case, dial, movement and bracelet are all part of the examination.
The outcome is a written findings report in plain language. It records what was consistent, what was not and what looks replaced or refinished. It is the expert opinion of ChronoCare's watchmakers, offered to help you decide, and it is neither a certificate nor a guarantee.
What the examination covers
Case and crystal
Lugs, bevels, case back and crystal are checked for correct finishing, markings and proportions, and for signs of earlier polishing or repair.
Dial and hands
Printing, lume, applied markers and hands are studied closely, because a refinished or swapped dial changes both the story and the standing of a watch.
Inspection of the movement
The movement is examined for correct parts, finishing and wear, and for any component that does not seem to belong with the rest.
Serial and reference check
The serial number and reference are read against the watch in front of us, so details in your paperwork can be compared with the watch itself.
Dubai Hills and the Prive Residences workshop
ChronoCare shares the Prive Residences address with the Chrono Group showroom in Dubai Hills. Many clients combine a visit with an errand at Dubai Hills Mall or a trip home to the villas and apartments of Dubai Hills Estate. Years of heat and air conditioning are hard on seals and lubricants, and the examination reads what they have left behind.
To book, send a message on WhatsApp or call us on +971 56 342 6757. We will agree a time, and the watchmaker will ask what you hope to learn before the examination begins, whether you are buying, selling, insuring or settling an estate. A booked appointment means the watchmaker can give your watch full attention.
When to ask for an examination
- You are about to buy a watch and want an independent view first.
- A watch from a relative has no papers and an unclear history.
- The dial or bracelet looks slightly unlike other examples you have seen.
- Your insurer has asked for a detailed description of the watch.

Questions about watch authentication in Dubai Hills
Where in Dubai Hills do you examine watches?
At our workshop at Prive Residences, in Dubai Hills, by appointment. The watchmakers work there, so the person who examines your watch is on hand to explain their findings. Book by WhatsApp or phone, then bring the watch and any papers you have.
Is the written report a certificate of authenticity?
No. It is a findings report that sets out what our watchmakers examined and what they concluded. Those conclusions are our expert opinion, reached by examining the watch in person. The report is not a certificate, not a legal document and not a guarantee of authenticity.
Should I bring the box and papers?
Yes, if you have them. Bring the box, receipts, service records and anything else that came with the watch. They do not replace the examination, but they give the watchmaker useful context and can be compared with the watch itself.
What is the best way for a Dubai Hills resident to book?
Message us on WhatsApp or call, and we will agree an appointment at the workshop. Mention the brand, the reference if you know it, and whether you are buying, selling, insuring or inheriting, so the watchmaker can prepare properly before you arrive.
