DIFC
Watch Authentication for DIFC
People who work in DIFC value precise wording, so our reports are written that way. A watchmaker examines the watch thoroughly and sets out what was found, and what was not.

Watch Authentication
A report written with care
Bankers, lawyers and fund managers read documents closely, and a watch report should stand up to that. Ours states what was examined, what was observed and what our watchmakers conclude from it, in plain terms and without overreaching. It is not padded out, and it leaves out nothing you would need to know.
What the report contains is the expert opinion of ChronoCare's watchmakers. It is not a certificate, it carries no legal standing, and it does not guarantee authenticity. What it gives you is a clear, reasoned account of the watch to set beside your own judgement.
What the report records
Scope of examination
The report begins by listing which parts of the watch were examined, so the limits of the opinion are as clear as its conclusions.
Details as observed
Markings, finishing and wear are described as observed, with replaced or refinished components noted separately from the original ones.
Findings on the movement
A watchmaker's notes on the movement cover finishing, parts and condition, and whether they sit sensibly with the case and dial around them.
Reference and serial
The serial number and reference are recorded and compared with the watch's configuration, and any inconsistency is set out plainly in the report.
From Gate Avenue to the workshop
DIFC is a district of tailored suits and tight schedules, with Gate Avenue at street level and the Gate district's towers above. Many people here wear one good watch every day, through meetings, travel and long hours. Cold offices and hot pavements bring plenty of temperature swings, and the watch earns its history.
To arrange an examination, contact us on WhatsApp or by phone and we will agree an appointment at the Dubai Hills workshop. Let us know if the report is for a purchase, a sale, an insurer or an estate, so the watchmaker can keep that in view. Bring any papers and records that you hold.
Signs it is worth checking
- Documentation for the watch is incomplete or does not match the watch itself.
- You are about to rely on a seller's description alone.
- An insurer wants a precise account of the watch's configuration and condition.
- A previously serviced watch now has a dial or hands that look different.

Questions about watch authentication in DIFC
How formal is the written report for DIFC clients?
It is a plain, structured account of the examination: what was inspected, what was observed and the opinion our watchmakers formed. It is not a legal document or certificate, and it does not offer guarantees.
Can a DIFC firm arrange an examination on behalf of a client?
A client or their representative can book by WhatsApp or phone. Tell us the purpose, whether sale, purchase, insurance or estate, and how the report will be used, so we can explain what it can reasonably support and where its limits lie.
Will the report state the watch's value?
No. The report concerns the watch's make, configuration, originality and condition as our watchmakers see them. It does not set a market value or guarantee authenticity. If you need a valuation, that is a separate matter for your insurer or a dealer.
Where does an examination for a DIFC professional take place?
At our workshop in Dubai Hills, at Prive Residences, by appointment. The watchmakers work there, so the person examining your watch is available to explain their findings in person and answer questions on the wording, or on anything the report leaves open.
